Founded 20 years ago on the Greek island of Syros, Chorographers is a dynamic architecture firm that embodies the essence of Cycladic living. Specializing in crafting dream homes by the sea, Chorographers blend heritage, history, and the enchanting allure of the Cyclades into every design. Their new visual identity reflects this unique positioning and also fulfils the practical need for bilingual communications. As a result, the new logo consists of the brand name in both English and Greek, composed in a seamless palindrome that embodies the rhythmic ebb and flow of the waves. Rooted in rich traditions, the logo pays homage to the timeless architectural legacy of the Cyclades while exuding a sense of calm and harmony. Inspired by the company's name (which literally means 'to write space'), we experimented with typography to create playful visual patterns that evoke the landscapes and seascapes of the Aegean. The logo expands to fill the full width of each application, in order to convey the idea that the company organically adapts to every space. To further reinforce this connection to place, we developed a color palette deeply tied to the Cycladic environment. A deep blue serves as the primary color, symbolizing both the sea and sky, while also referencing the signature blue-and-white architecture of the Aegean. Rather than a stark white, we opted for a soft, light beige—reminiscent of sunlit facades and natural textures—complemented by earthy brown tones inspired by the rocky Cycladic landscape. These colors are not just applied visually but are also physically present in the printed materials through carefully selected Colorplan papers, ensuring consistency, depth, and vibrancy across all applications. Seamlessly blending elements of aspiration, space, heritage, and organic movement, the visual identity symbolizes Chorographers' ethos and vision, guiding clients on a transformative journey to embrace the beauty and serenity of a life lived barefoot by the lapping waves.
